Get a good night’s sleep

Wake up early

Dress professionally – dark suit, pressed shirt, clean tie, dark socks and shoes

Keeps mints handy

Get there about 10 minutes early and be prepared

Bring a folder or portfolio with a pad of paper and a pen with at least 2 copies of your resume (It’s a good idea to have notes of your accomplishments you want to mention and some questions you want to ask already on you pad of paper.)

Be exceptionally polite to the receptionist

Shake hands firmly whenever you meet someone and whenever s/he leaves

If they offer you something to drink, accept, and take something easy like water, coffee or Pepsi – don’t be complicated

Take notes during the interview whether you need to or not.  This gives them the impression that you think what s/he is saying is important and lets them know that you are paying attention.

Send a hand-written thank you note to everyone you spoke with (write their names on the paper you brought)
