Questions You May Want To Ask The InterviewerAt
the end of the interview, the interviewer always asks, Do you have any questions for
me? You should always have some. Here are some suggestions. How
can I make an immediate impact? What
is the problem you hope to solve by filling this position? If
I perform well, how do you reward me and when? (for
permanent positions only) When
are reviews? (for permanent positions only) How
will I know if I am performing to your expectations? Ask how the hiring authority got to his position/how long been there/worked their way up through the company? Why
did you join this company? How
long have most of the people on the team been with the company? What
is the percentage of full-time employees vs. contractors on this project team? Describe
an average day. What are the strengths and weaknesses on the team? (Hopefully you can fill in their weaknesses with one of your strengths) I saw that on your web site that your company just signed a deal with X, how will that partnership affect (show them you have done your homework on them.) From what you have heard, do you have any reasons to think that I cannot do the job? (This is a loaded question and you need to use it with caution. It can be great and let you know where you didnt sell yourself and let you add to those points. On the other hand, some interviewers may become defensive and not tell you anything. Go with your gut on whether or not you should ask it.) When can I start? (If you are interested in the job tell them! You may not want to be this direct, but use something that works for you. Maybe, this sounds like the sort of position that matches well with my background and where I want to go with my career. I am extremely interested in this opportunity and your company. I am available on just a 2 week notice to my current employer. How soon can I expect to hear from you?)
